I’ve had quite a few dreams about feet/shoes lately. Last night, I had some kick ass more-than-thigh-high converse sneaks. Black sneakers with some kind of knit/sweater material around the ankle to shin area, followed by striped socks that came up to the mid-thigh. This was topped off with some kind of denim deal that tied together shoelace style at the top. I was sporting them at first with no probs, but later in the dream when I tried to put them on it was like they had grown taller, and were too long for my legs. I decided to wear them under my ripped jeans and they somehow magically fit again. Serfontaine’s are magical that way I guess.
Earlier this week, one part of my dream was that I was trudging through the snow in my fish flops. I think I may have had capris on too. My feet were sort of numb, but not bad. I know this was followed by more wild dreams, but I’ve forgotten them by now.
Not sure what this all means. According to my dream dictionary, the possibilities are: meet new acquainances, have an annoying mystery, disappointment in love, omen of success, or suggest I’m overconfident. Of course, these things are hardly ever right (knock on wood). Not one of them says a thing about fish and pregnancies, which we all know is fact.

Man Ray was and is by far one of my favorite influences. While enjoying a glass of wine and a good book on the porch the other day, I stumbled upon something I’d been looking for… a more abstract way to show spirits. What I was doing previously is quite boring to me. I guess that’s why I haven’t done a whole lot with it and just drank my wine instead of playing with it.
When I viewed the picture above, one of the first things that came to mind was “reverse rayograph”. I’ve loved creating photograms since I was a child and was always amused that Man Ray took this technique, tweaked it, and put his own name on it.
For shits-n-giggles I inverted the piece so it would look like a regular photogram. Not nearly as spectacular. I love the brilliant shine of the red pinot in the first photograph. Luckily, summer is lurking and there’ll be plenty more sunny days to experiment with this new idea.

Milo’s cone is off! The ear seems to have healed nicely. He also finally got a bath, so he’s no longer King of Funk, though I think he kinda enjoyed that title.

Day in the Life by Courtney

Instead of the Easter basket filled with chocolate, Mom has sent tulips the past two years for Easter. Maybe she read my smile post; maybe she just thought it would brighten my day. It did – my day and my table.

Last year I rushed. I was excited to have received tulips. I grabbed them out of their box and went to town cutting the stems and trying to arrange (I suck at arranging). I broke a few stems. I arranged them in a smaller glass.
This year instructions were read. Plastic stayed wrapped around the flowers so they’re heads wouldn’t droop. A penny was added to the bottom of the vase to keep them standing straight. It worked — they’re still beautiful 3 days later. Now I carry the vases from room to room with me as I move throughout the day. If I’m outside, my flowers are outside. If I’m cooking, they’re on the dining room table. If I’m at my desk, I have one vase to each side.
Funny, the flowers seem to last way longer than the chocolate.

When I saw this on the news yesterday I just burst out laughing. This look is the exact same look Milo used to give me when he would hop onto the couch. “I dare you to tell me to get off of here.”
